Job Description

  • Conduct daily pre-start checks on forklift and / or other equipment before use 
  • Operate supplied equipment with due care, in accordance with set safety procedures and ensure that the equipment operational procedures are adhered to
  • To obtain details of stock location and quantity of items in stock using computer system
  • To use company computer system to maintain accurate records, carry out stock transfers, change stock locations, etc. 
  • Move heavy packages using a forklift
  • To assist with counting and recording the number of items in store during stock checks and stock-take when required
  • To use parts manuals and computer system to identify parts
  • Provide backup support for parts staff with customer calls / customer orders 
  • Be prepared to undertake any internal / external training as required  
  • Comply with company policies and procedures
  • Quality assurance – monitor and review processing Parts Department paperwork and work procedures and recommend changes where more efficient or effective work practices can be identified
  • Health and safety – Work in a safe manner, keep the stores area / stores free of hazards, report  all accidents and any potential hazards to the Parts Manager, avoid unsafe work practices at work, use Personal Protective Equipment (PPE) and comply with requirements of the current health and safety legislation  health and safety legislation 
  • Other duties as directed 
  • Maintain good housekeeping of stores and delivery vehicle
